Erin and I desperately wanted to get moving - having a kitchen and bathroom was nice, but...our bike needed to be fixed up, and we were running low on food. Plus, staying in one place was starting to drag on our morale. So we ate our last breakfast and packed up our things, heading off to Warren, ME.
We had finished designing our makeshift pedalblock and cage out of duct tape and a tuna can, so we were as prepared as we could be. As we shoved off, things were going smooth enough, and we kept a very slow, gentle pace along the highway.
Before too long we had seen a road sign indicating we were entering Warren. We stopped to do a quick google search to locate the motel we hoped to stay at. It was just outside Warren but on route.
We saw some bald eagles soaring in the distance when we stopped for a snack, which was cool. Erin also spotted another roadkill observation (an old, broken turtle shell), which she recorded en route.
When we got to the motel, I probably couldn't have gone any further without overdoing it, so we were pretty worried when we saw the "No Vacancy" sign lit up in the window. We stopped in the office and were told that one room was being held on reserve, but the owner said she would call and check to see if the person was going to show up. A concerned couple of minutes passed, but luck was with us and we were asked back in so we could book the room for the night.
The next morning was another late start, since we didn't plan on going too far again. We hit some major hills right off the bat, which was a bit of a drag...but we rallied at a convenience store and kept moving. On the way up a hill Erin spotted an eagle feather, which we picked up and took with us. I think it helped, since we started moving a lot faster. With many breaks to stretch and a few difficult highway crossings, we eventually made it to our campground.

Yeay!!!
